Mazda 6 MPS is a hard car to find
1 September , 2010

Now don’t get me wrong, I love my Mazda 6 TS Estate 2.0 but after taking a drive in the Vauxhall Astra VXR (with more poke than a snooker cue) I’m finding it hard to feel settled in it. So it’s time for a new car.Mazda 6 MPS

It’s hard to move away from Mazda once you’ve had a Mazda. The 6 series gives the most fantastic drive and even for an estate, the car is pretty fun. It’s got a bit of edge that I really admire. So I thought I’d stick with Mazda, at least this time round.

I’ve been reading up a lot about various different cars and judging how much money I had to spend on my latest fix and came to the conclusion that the Mazda 6 MPS was the best way to go.

I did a search on autotrader.co.uk and found about 8 Mazda 6 MPS on sale, 3 of which were worth looking at. After sending a few emails off, I managed to book a test drive in Ashford, Kent (about a 2 hour drive from where I live) for the following Saturday. Friday approached. I was on edge the whole evening just bursting at the seams with excitement, I knew I was going to be buying it. I Randomly went to check my emails only to find that the car had been sold and would be out of the garage on Saturday… Bugger.

Since that day, all of the Mazda 6 MPS of worth are gone. I’m struggling to pick one up in black and with a Mazda warranty attached.

So there you have it, Mazda 6 MPS is a bloody hard car to get your hands on but when I do possess its power, I will reign hell upon the earth.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

hi! bought my mps 6 last month from main dealer 06 plate, 31k miles, one owner, full history for £9k also got 2 year warranty. always ask for a long warranty as this will give you peace of mind! out powered a porsche boxtser with 4 up in the car plus weekend shopping in the boot! the porsche driver then realized he bought the wrong car!

    • James says:

Oh, outpowered a porsche boxter.. Do you know what model it was?

  4. r hill says:

it was (i think)2.7 (228)aero kit, about the same as a mps. he couldnt shake me off at the traffic islands and then managed to edge in front, the traffic then got heavier so i let him go. i value my license!

Sick, hahah. Glad you got the bastard. MPS are fantastic cars.

Recently i’ve had some really annoying rattles i can’t find… And some odd steering tension that is not linked to wheels or breaks… Apart from that, drives are fantastic to and from work… And when racing late at night ;)

There are too many Porsches around these days but they still grab the eyes in the right colour and model. An MPS is rarer though so at least that’s more exclusive.

  6. r hill says:

i hate annoying rattles! cant help you there, sometimes previous owners tamper with the dashboard etc to fit phones, bluetooth parrot and so on. i had what sounded like a loose nut or washer running up and down the passenger door but thankfully its lodged itself and its no more! turn up the great sound system a bit and that should do it! enjoy your car!!

forgot about the steering issue. check the wheel alignment as the mps needs proper attention here.also what tyres do you have? i have bridgestones which do a good job. go to a GOOD tyre centre or better still a local mazda dealer. a friend of mine once had his insurance invlaid because of cheaper tyres on a performance car.

    • James says:

Yes, I have bridgestone steel banded tyres at the moment. My next set will be the yokohama (225, 45, 180).

Ah, why hadn’t I thought of the tracking, I’ll take it to the garage to get the tracking done on Saturday. Thanks for the knock on the head. That must be what it is!!! Legend.
