GT5 Review

Hi all,

Got home and unpacked my fresh version of GT5. Oh lordy lord.

The smell of the instruction booklet’s fresh print. *shiver runs down spine*. This is it. It’s here. It’s finally FUCKING here.

Installation:
It takes ages to install GT5. 43 minutes on my PS3 classic 40GB. The game needs a fair bit of space. If I remember correctly, it was 8GB and some… which is fine!

Introduction video:
*drools*. So much machinery, I don’t know what to do with myself. The video was very cool. It demonstrates the process of car creation including all the metal making parts which was absolutely fantastic. All in 1080p… yum yum.

The User Interface:
My date and time were wrong so after the initial panic of the fact I could not select any of the menu options because it could not sync, it all seemed pretty good. Slow, but good. It looks beautiful and makes sense. Very nice intuitive layout. I like the idea of the home page, very cool.

The simulator / Game:
*drools*. GT5 has the physics absolutely spot on! I cannot believe how real this game feels. It’s actually scary. Graphics are a bit shit, but the simulator is addictive. The events are plentiful. The game just feels so right. I love it with a passion.

The Multiplayer:
The server list is extremely slow, and my joystick seemed unresponsive whilst the server list loaded. It reminded me of Battlefield Bad Company 2 when it first came out on PC. My connection cut out half way through it updating and GT5 would not respond after it had done so. I had to restart in the end.

Apart from that, the multiplayer itself was very cool. I assume that there will be a lot of work to be done in updating the whole multiplayer feature… It’s all a bit lacking. But don’t worry, you’ll love it nonetheless.

Music
The music is gorgeous, and plentiful. A lot of it is very loungy so it really fits well with the whole driving theme.

Mazda 6 MPS in GT5Verdict – 4/5
Haha, ver-”dick”-t. Anyway. I love this game. If you like driving, you must get this game. Trust me, it’ll be everything you were looking for and more. It’s my favourite racing game so far.

Oh by the way, it has our car in it: Mazda 6 MPS, first race you participate in:

Here’s some other reviews:

Please take them with salt, they are very focused on it being a game rather than a simulator, thing is. If you love driving, you’ll love this game. I don’t understand why they are attacking it so much. It’s a very big success, its a 3 thumbs up (“Incest in the morning… 97.1″)

I just drove back from the garage with my beautiful new Mazda 6 MPS. Oh boy oh boy was it fast!!! not only that, due to the turbo lag, you get a pretty smooth drive around town if needs be, and on the motorway you can gun it like a boy racer.Mazda 6 MPS

Amazingly fun, what a great piece of machinery!

Here is a picture of my new baby:

Mazda 6 MPS is a hard car to find

Now don’t get me wrong, I love my Mazda 6 TS Estate 2.0 but after taking a drive in the Vauxhall Astra VXR (with more poke than a snooker cue) I’m finding it hard to feel settled in it. So it’s time for a new car.Mazda 6 MPS

It’s hard to move away from Mazda once you’ve had a Mazda. The 6 series gives the most fantastic drive and even for an estate, the car is pretty fun. It’s got a bit of edge that I really admire. So I thought I’d stick with Mazda, at least this time round.

I’ve been reading up a lot about various different cars and judging how much money I had to spend on my latest fix and came to the conclusion that the Mazda 6 MPS was the best way to go.

I did a search on autotrader.co.uk and found about 8 Mazda 6 MPS on sale, 3 of which were worth looking at. After sending a few emails off, I managed to book a test drive in Ashford, Kent (about a 2 hour drive from where I live) for the following Saturday. Friday approached. I was on edge the whole evening just bursting at the seams with excitement, I knew I was going to be buying it. I Randomly went to check my emails only to find that the car had been sold and would be out of the garage on Saturday… Bugger.

Since that day, all of the Mazda 6 MPS of worth are gone. I’m struggling to pick one up in black and with a Mazda warranty attached.

So there you have it, Mazda 6 MPS is a bloody hard car to get your hands on but when I do possess its power, I will reign hell upon the earth.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Finally got off my ass

Hi all,

I finally got off my ass and made the website. It’s all content managed and what not so it should be nice and easy for me to update; which means more content for you!

I really hope everyone had a fantastic Christmas, New year, Valentines Day and Easter (I may have missed a few). I have certainly been busy! I managed to get a new job at a lovely little private estate in Godalming UK and now work in a little cottage which has had a blast of modernity… It’s going really well and i’m learning heaps and heaps of new things.

I’ve got quite a lot of songaroonies coming along as well and I hope to get them out as soon as possible. They are a bit far out so it might be that this selection of songs doesn’t float your boat but as I said, my new site will hopefully mean I will be putting my all back into bringing you some of the good shit.

Boy oh boy, lots of things have happened since my last post. For starters, the uprising of Rage against the machines. Beautiful, to say the least. My change in music taste – Reggae. My new car; a beautiful Mazda 6, which I adore very much and the snowiest of snowy winters I have probably ever experienced…

I hope the year pans out as well as it feels it will.

All the best,

James.
